In Chapter 19 of the Rule, St. Benedict writes, "The divine Presence is everywhere." I am a Benedictine oblate learning to live by that claim. Praying with the psalms, reading the Scriptures, praying with a word, and reading the Rule order my daily learning. Whether doing dishes or sitting in a committee meeting, I keep this before me: The ordinary bears eternity.
